In 1963, “Amedeo” Richard DeAngelis opened a small Italian restaurant to serve his family’s recipes. The company grew in size and popularity and became an NC State and Raleigh favorite. In February of 2010, a company named Wolfgang, Inc, consisting of David Harris and Rodney Byrd, purchased Amedeo’s. Under the direction and leadership of President, David Harris, extensive upgrading of the kitchen and bathrooms, remodeling of the bar to include several large screen TVs, and touching up the dining rooms was completed and Amedeo’s reopened in early March, 2010. The NCSU Sports “museum” was kept intact.
